1. Executive Overview — Who is Rerir in Genshin Impact?

Rerir, dreaded across the subterranean ruins of Khaenri'ah and the frost-bitten borderlands of Nod-Krai by his ominous title 'Rächer of Solnari' (猎月人, meaning the Avenger or Hunter of the Moon), is one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah—the transcendent apostates whose betrayal sealed the doom of their homeland five hundred years ago. First named aloud by Dainsleif during the Sumeru Archon Quest *Bedtime Story*, Rerir stood alongside Vedrfolnir ('The Visionary'), Rhinedottir ('Gold'), Surtalogi ('The Foul'), and Hroptatyr ('The Wise') as one of the brightest prodigies of the Eclipse Dynasty before succumbing to the irresistible temptation of the Abyss.

When the Five Sinners divided a world-shattering share of Abyssal power among themselves during the Cataclysm and abandoned Khaenri'ah to Celestia's wrath, Rerir ascended into a semi-divine being whose shadow stretches across the lunar mysteries of Teyvat and the spectral legions of the Wild Hunt in Nod-Krai. On this dedicated encyclopedia page, 3D artists, cosplayers, and lore researchers can inspect the official Rerir 3D model (`Rerir.pmx`) in real time while exploring his origins in Norse myth, his tragic bond with the Crimson Moon maiden Tholindis, his rivalry with Dainsleif, and his dark astral armor.

02 · SPECIES, LINEAGE & ONTOLOGY · 种族与血脉考据

Rerir’s Species, Heritage & Biological Nature

To understand the ontological classification of Rerir within Genshin Impact, one must examine the metamorphosis of the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah during the Cataclysm. Originally born as a mortal human of Khaenri'ah—and revered by his peers as a peerless warrior and seeker of lunar truth—Rerir transcended standard human biology when he and his four co-conspirators absorbed one-sixth shares of an Abyssal power capable of overturning the world. Unlike ordinary pure-blooded Khaenri'ahns such as Dainsleif and Capitano who slowly rot under Celestia's Curse of Immortality, Rerir became a transcendent entity operating on a cosmic plane comparable to the Shades and Sovereigns.

His title, 'Rächer of Solnari' (rendered in Chinese as 猎月人, 'Moon Hunter,' and in German as 'Avenger of Solnari'), links Rerir directly to Solnari—one of the ancient Three Moons of Teyvat—and to the bloodline conflict between the Crimson Moon Dynasty and the Eclipse Dynasty of Khaenri'ah. In Norse mythology, the historical name Rerir belongs to the son of Sigi and grandson of Odin who avenged his father's murder; in Genshin Impact, Rerir embodies relentless, abyss-soaked vengeance directed at the fate of the Moon and the false sky above.

03 · HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & ORIGINS · 身世背景与过往历史

The Origins and Historical Journey of Rerir

More than five hundred years ago, during the transition and political purges between the Crimson Moon remnants and the Eclipse Dynasty of Khaenri'ah, Rerir rose to prominence as one of the kingdom's six legendary champions alongside Dainsleif, Rhinedottir, Surtalogi, Hroptatyr, and Dainsleif's older brother Vedrfolnir. Deeply entangled with the forbidden lore of the ancient moons and his fateful connection to the Crimson Moon descendant Tholindis, Rerir grew increasingly disillusioned with both the royal court of King Irmin and the cruel laws imposed by Celestia's firmament.

When King Irmin blinded and imprisoned Vedrfolnir for delivering a dire prophecy, Dainsleif recruited Rerir, Rhinedottir, Surtalogi, and Hroptatyr to storm the royal dungeon and free his brother. Yet at the decisive moment when the Cataclysm erupted and Khaenri'ah needed its greatest champions to defend its citizens, Rerir and the other four Sinners could not resist the call of the Abyss. Dividing its world-destroying power among themselves, they turned their backs on their burning nation and departed into the cosmic dark.

In the centuries since the Cataclysm, the influence of Rerir has manifested most ominously along the northern frontier of Nod-Krai, where the spectral legions of the 'Wild Hunt'—abyssal phantoms that prowl beneath the pale moonlight—march in resonance with the Rächer of Solnari, drawing the vigilance of the Lightkeepers (such as Flins and Illuga), the Frostmoon Scions, and Dainsleif himself.

04 · PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE & BONDS · 性格特征、行事准则与人际关系

Rerir’s Personality, Ideals, and Relationships in Teyvat

Unlike Rhinedottir, who pursues the creation of life with detached scientific curiosity, or Surtalogi, who wanders the cosmos seeking a worthy martial duel, Rerir is driven by a brooding, monomaniacal obsession with lunar vengeance and broken oaths. As the 'Rächer' (Avenger/Hunter) of Solnari, Rerir views the current order of Teyvat's sky and the tragedy of the fallen moons not as settled history, but as a blood debt that must be collected in full.

At the emotional core of Rerir's backstory lies his tragic relationship with Tholindis—a maiden associated with the ancient Crimson Moon lineage whose fate during Khaenri'ah's dynastic upheaval scarred Rerir irrevocably and fueled his transformation into the Moon Hunter. Where Dainsleif clung to his duty to protect the people of Khaenri'ah as a whole, Rerir chose to sacrifice the entire kingdom on the altar of Abyssal transcendence in pursuit of his personal vendetta against the heavens.

Among his former comrades, Dainsleif regards Rerir with cold, unyielding hatred, listing the Rächer of Solnari by name among the Five Sinners whom he has sworn to hunt down and annihilate no matter how many centuries it takes. Meanwhile, in Nod-Krai, the Lightkeepers and the Frostmoon Scions led by Lauma stand on constant guard against the encroaching shadow of Rerir's Wild Hunt.

05 · COMBAT ABILITIES & ELEMENTAL MASTERY · 战斗能力、技能机制与神之眼权能

Rerir’s Combat Capabilities, Elemental Authority & Kit Breakdown

Categorized with Universal elemental and weapon dominion in our model archive because he commands one-sixth of the world-shattering Abyssal power seized during the Cataclysm, Rerir operates far beyond the scale of mortal Vision holders and standard elemental reactions.

Normal & Charged Attack Choreography

Drawing upon his authority as Lord of the Wild Hunt and Rächer of Solnari, Rerir can summon spectral abyssal hounds and phantom cavalry from the dark realm, enveloping entire regions in an unnatural blood-moon eclipse.

Elemental Burst & Supreme Manifestation

Lore Strength, Passives & Signature Synergy

Like his fellow Sinners Rhinedottir, Surtalogi, Vedrfolnir, and Hroptatyr, Rerir has achieved a state of cosmic transcendence that renders him immune to the spiritual erosion and physical decay that afflict ordinary cursed Khaenri'ahns.

Inspecting the official Rerir 3D model (`Rerir.pmx`) inside our interactive WebGL studio reveals a menacing, regal design that fuses royal Khaenri'ahn plate armor with eclipsed-moon and abyssal-hunter motifs. His silhouette is dominated by jagged obsidian-and-silver shoulder pauldrons, a tattered dark crimson-and-midnight cloak that billows like smoke, and a sharp chest cuirass inlaid with an eclipsed Solnari star emblem. His hair and facial framing carry the austere, aristocratic intensity of an ancient Khaenri'ahn lord touched by the dark realm.

For cosplayers, armor fabricators, and 3D lighting artists studying Rerir, the intricate layering of his segmented gauntlets, asymmetric cape attachments, and spinal armor plates is difficult to reconstruct from atmospheric cutscenes alone. By using the Sub-Mesh Disassembly controls and 4-view orthographic turnaround export in our 3D viewer above, creators can hide the outer cloak and hair layers of the Rerir model to inspect every metallic seam from Front, Back, Left, and Right angles.
