1. Executive Overview — Who is Xingqiu in Genshin Impact?

Xingqiu, admired by the aristocratic elders of Liyue Harbor as the studious, well-mannered second son of the wealthy Feiyun Commerce Guild manager, is secretly a chivalrous martial artist, a mischievous prankster, and an internationally bestselling wuxia novelist writing under the pen name 'Zhenyu.' Whenever he is not effortlessly finishing his family's commercial ledgers in record time, Xingqiu slips away to Wanwen Bookhouse or the mountains of Liyue to practice the lost sword-and-spear arts of the ancient Guhua Clan and right injustices like the heroes of his favorite martial arts novels.

Wielding a Hydro Vision and a one-handed sword that weaves hovering Rain Swords out of pure water, Xingqiu is one of the most celebrated off-field Hydro applicators and defensive utility supports in Genshin Impact. On this dedicated page, cosplayers, 3D modelers, and lore researchers can inspect the official Xingqiu 3D model (alongside his Bamboo Rain attire aesthetic) in real time while exploring his revival of the Guhua Clan's Light Piercer technique, his bestselling novel A Legend of Sword in Inazuma, his lifelong friendship with Chongyun, and his Guhua Sword: Raincutter combat mechanics.

02 · SPECIES, LINEAGE & ONTOLOGY · 种族与血脉考据

Xingqiu’s Species, Heritage & Biological Nature

Within the societal structure of Liyue Harbor, Xingqiu is a mortal human born into the upper echelons of Liyue's mercantile nobility—the Feiyun Commerce Guild, whose shipping and silk trade networks span all of Teyvat. To his parents, his older brother, and his tutors, young Xingqiu appeared to be the textbook ideal of a refined gentleman scholar: polite, soft-spoken, and constantly buried in thick stacks of classical texts. In reality, Xingqiu hollowed out his classical philosophy textbooks to hide thrilling wuxia martial arts novels inside, letting the ancient code of xia (chivalrous errantry) shape his entire moral identity.

This devotion to chivalrous justice is also what awakened his Hydro Vision and restored the dying spark of the Guhua Clan. Enrolling at the crumbling Wangshan Hall on Mt. Hulao to study Guhua martial arts, Xingqiu discovered that the school's elders had forgotten how to integrate elemental qi with physical strikes. By deciphering fragmented ancient scrolls left by the adeptus-blessed founder Guhua, Xingqiu reconstructed the lost philosophical unity of 'Rainscreen' and 'Light Piercer'—Simultaneously earning his Hydro Vision and becoming the true modern heir to the Guhua Clan's martial legacy despite having the worst handwriting in Teyvat.

03 · HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & ORIGINS · 身世背景与过往历史

The Origins and Historical Journey of Xingqiu

Born as the younger of two sons to the head of the Feiyun Commerce Guild, Xingqiu grew up free from the immediate pressure of inheriting the family patriarchate—a burden resting primarily on his earnest older brother—yet he quickly proved to possess a far sharper commercial and strategic mind than anyone in the household. Whenever the Feiyun Commerce Guild faced a complex shipping bottleneck or a predatory contract negotiation, a teenage Xingqiu could resolve the crisis in a single afternoon, leaving his tutors and parents baffled whenever he subsequently vanished for days into the wilderness.

During those unscheduled excursions, Xingqiu was busy living out his true passion as a wandering hero of justice. Traveling incognito through Liyue's countryside, he thwarted Treasure Hoarder ambushes, exposed corrupt tax collectors, and rescued kidnapped merchants without ever leaving his real name behind. Seeking a martial style worthy of a true xia, he joined the declining Guhua Clan at Wangshan Hall; while his senior fellow disciples practiced empty, theatrical routines for show, Xingqiu quietly mastered both the sword and polearm treatises hidden in the hall's dusty library and revived the school's lost combat effectiveness.

Alongside his martial pursuits, Xingqiu penned an ambitious martial arts novel titled A Legend of Sword. Although Liyue's traditional critics at Wanwen Bookhouse initially dismissed the book because of Xingqiu's atrocious handwriting and unconventional structure, a traveling merchant carried copies across the sea to Inazuma's Yae Publishing House. Paired with breathtaking illustrations by the Mondstadt artist 'Calx' (Albedo), A Legend of Sword became a sensation across Inazuma under Xingqiu's pen name 'Zhenyu,' turning the young Liyue heir into a literary celebrity abroad.

04 · PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE & BONDS · 性格特征、行事准则与人际关系

Xingqiu’s Personality, Ideals, and Relationships in Teyvat

Xingqiu possesses a wonderfully layered personality that blends aristocratic poise, earnest chivalry, and impish humor. When dealing with bullies, extortionists, or corrupt officials like Gentry Maocai, Xingqiu never raises his voice; instead, he dismantles their schemes using airtight commercial contracts, legal loopholes, and a polite smile before drawing his sword if force is required. Around his close friends, however, the noble facade melts away into playful teasing—provided no one ever sneaks carrots into his meal, which he despises with every fiber of his being.

At the heart of Xingqiu's social circle is his inseparable best friend, the exorcist Chongyun. Fascinated by Chongyun's earnest temperament and Pure Yang spirit, Xingqiu frequently drags him along on hunts for nonexistent 'evil spirits' or pranks him by sneaking Jueyun Chilis into his food, yet Xingqiu is also the first person to quietly arrange chilled popsicles, compensate tavern owners after Chongyun's Yang flare-ups, and buy rare exorcism talismans to support Chongyun's dream.

Together with Xiangling and Hu Tao, Xingqiu and Chongyun form Liyue Harbor's famous quartet of young friends: Xingqiu exchanges classical poetry couplets with Hu Tao at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and regularly dines at Wanmin Restaurant while begging Xiangling to hold the carrots. Beyond Liyue, Xingqiu shares a deep creative partnership and mutual respect with Albedo ('Calx'), whom he met in person during the Irodori Festival in Inazuma, and gets along warmly with Kazuha, Venti, Gaming, and his family's bodyguard-acquaintances like Beidou and Yelan.

05 · COMBAT ABILITIES & ELEMENTAL MASTERY · 战斗能力、技能机制与神之眼权能

Xingqiu’s Combat Capabilities, Elemental Authority & Kit Breakdown

In both canon lore and battlefield gameplay, Xingqiu is an elite Hydro Sword sub-DPS and defensive support whose Rain Swords provide unmatched single-target off-field Hydro application, damage reduction, interruption resistance, and micro-healing.

Normal & Charged Attack Choreography

Through Guhua Style, Xingqiu executes up to five graceful, classical sword slashes that blend fluid wrist turns with thrusting lunges taught in the ancient Guhua manuals.

Elemental Skill & Tactical Deployment

Casting his Elemental Skill, Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen, sees Xingqiu perform an acrobatic twin-strike backflip that deals two high-multiplier hits of Hydro damage while conjuring the maximum number of hovering Rain Swords (three by default, four at Constellation 1) around the active character. Each Rain Sword reduces incoming damage based on Xingqiu's Hydro DMG Bonus, grants massive resistance to interruption, and shatters upon taking a hit to heal the active character.

Elemental Burst & Supreme Manifestation

When unleashing his Elemental Burst, Guhua Sword: Raincutter, Xingqiu initiates the Rainbow Bladework technique and summons an unbreakable ring of Rain Swords for 15 seconds (18 seconds at Constellation 2). Whenever any active party member performs a Normal Attack, Raincutter launches consecutive volleys of two, three, or five spectral Hydro sword-rain waves at the enemy, enabling relentless Vaporize, Hyperbloom, Electro-Charged, and Freeze reactions.

Lore Strength, Passives & Signature Synergy

Through his passive talents Hydropathic and Blades Amidst Raindrops, whenever a Rain Sword shatters or expires, it heals the active character for 6% of Xingqiu's Max HP, while Xingqiu himself gains a flat +20% Hydro DMG Bonus. Meanwhile, Flash of Genius grants a 25% chance to refund a portion of Character Talent Materials when crafting—ironically reflecting his scholarly brilliance despite his messy calligraphy.
