1. Executive Overview — Who is Qiqi in Genshin Impact?

Qiqi, known quietly around the stone stairways of Liyue Harbor as the diminutive herb gatherer and apprentice of Bubu Pharmacy, is an immortal Cryo sword user with one of the most poignant origins in all of Teyvat. Centuries ago, when she was merely an ordinary mortal village girl picking medicinal herbs in the mountains, Qiqi wandered into a catastrophic battle between the adepti and demons; fatally wounded in the crossfire and granted a Cryo Vision in her dying breath, she was resurrected by the collective adeptal energy of the mourning adepti and sealed in mountain amber as a living zombie.

Awakening in the modern era with an undead body that never ages, warms, or retains long-term memories without written notes, Qiqi now lives under the care of Doctor Baizhu and the herbalist Gui at Bubu Pharmacy. On this dedicated page, cosplayers, 3D character artists, and Genshin Impact lore scholars can inspect the official Qiqi 3D model in real time while exploring her Jiangshi physiology, her rivalry with Hu Tao, her Fortune-Preserving Talisman healing mechanics, and her heartwarming notebook entries.

02 · SPECIES, LINEAGE & ONTOLOGY · 种族与血脉考据

Qiqi’s Species, Heritage & Biological Nature

To understand Qiqi at a biological and supernatural level, one must examine the traditional Chinese folklore of the Jiangshi ('stiff corpse' or hopping zombie) reimagined through Liyue's adeptal cosmology. Unlike undead monsters corrupted by Abyssal filth or Tatarigami怨念, Qiqi is an adepti-infused revenant: when both adepti and demons were moved by pity for the innocent herb-gathering child caught in their war, each adeptus poured a fraction of their own illuminated life force into her small frame to bring her back from the brink of death.

Because a mortal child's vessel could not contain the raw, overwhelming power of multiple adepti at once, Qiqi initially went berserk until Mountain Shaper was forced to seal her inside golden karst amber for centuries. In the present day, her zombie physiology means she has no pulse, no body heat, and no sense of smell or taste, and she must perform daily calisthenics to prevent rigor mortis from stiffening her joints. To keep her residual adeptal energy stable, Qiqi wears paper talismans across her hat and shoulders and carries her Cryo Vision—which crystallized in the final second before her mortal heart stopped because of her desperate wish to freeze time and live on with her family.

03 · HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & ORIGINS · 身世背景与过往历史

The Origins and Historical Journey of Qiqi

Centuries before the Traveler set foot in Liyue, Qiqi was a cheerful, ordinary mortal girl who climbed the misty crags of Jueyun Karst with a wicker basket on her back to gather medicinal herbs for her family. One fateful day, she fractured her leg after slipping down a steep cliffside and took shelter inside a rocky cavern to bandage her wound—unaware that the cavern had become the epicenter of a ferocious clash between Liyue's adepti and ancient demonic remnants.

As a massive landslide crushed the cavern ceiling, the dying girl thought of her parents waiting at home and wished with all her heart that time could simply freeze so she could stay alive. Instantly, a glowing Cryo Vision materialized before her dimmed eyes just as her life slipped away. Discovering her small body beneath the rubble, the warring adepti ceased fighting in shared grief and each imparted a spark of adeptal energy to resurrect her—only to seal her inside Mountain Shaper's amber when the excessive immortal power drove her into an uncontrollable frenzy.

Hundreds of years later, humans mining in the mountains discovered the amber crystal and carried it toward Liyue Harbor for burial, during which Qiqi finally broke free from the weakened seal. Still operating on her last living memory—'must pick herbs'—she wandered into the woods until Doctor Baizhu of Bubu Pharmacy took her in. Although Baizhu originally harbored ulterior motives to study her immortal constitution for his own pursuit of eternal life, Qiqi eventually learned to issue orders to herself ('Qiqi, cancel orders') and stayed at Bubu Pharmacy where she is genuinely cared for.

04 · PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE & BONDS · 性格特征、行事准则与人际关系

Qiqi’s Personality, Ideals, and Relationships in Teyvat

In daily interactions at Bubu Pharmacy, Qiqi speaks in a slow, whisper-soft, fragmented cadence, pausing between short phrases as she searches her mind for the right words. Because her zombie brain suffers from severe anterograde amnesia—rapidly forgetting anyone or any instruction she does not repeatedly review—Qiqi carries a treasured leather-bound 'Notebook of How to Do Things' everywhere she goes. Inside its pages, written in neat handwriting, are reminders of how to sort herbs, how to stretch her limbs, and which people in Liyue Harbor she loves and wants to protect.

Despite her lack of facial muscle warmth and her fear of hot temperatures (which accelerate the decay of her undead body), Qiqi possesses a deeply gentle and earnest soul. She dreams of having a pet finch, loves drinking cold 'coconut milk'—though she once famously believed it came from a mythical horned adepti beast called a 'Cocogoat'—and works tirelessly to memorize the faces of friends like the Traveler so she will never forget them even if she loses her notebook.

Within Liyue Harbor, Qiqi relies on Doctor Baizhu and the changsheng white snake, as well as her kind senior coworker Gui. She shares a beloved friendship with young Yaoyao, who treats Qiqi like a cherished sister and brings her small finches to watch. Conversely, Qiqi harbors an instinctive terror and dislike of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Director Hu Tao, who for years attempted to kidnap and cremate Qiqi to restore the natural cycle of life and death—until Hu Tao finally learned the tragic story of Qiqi's past and chose to respect the little zombie's will to live.

05 · COMBAT ABILITIES & ELEMENTAL MASTERY · 战斗能力、技能机制与神之眼权能

Qiqi’s Combat Capabilities, Elemental Authority & Kit Breakdown

In both canon lore and gameplay mechanics, Qiqi is an ancient swordswoman and one of the highest raw-output healers in Genshin Impact. Scaling all of her healing directly off her Attack stat rather than HP, Qiqi combines rapid one-handed blade flurries with an orbiting Cryo spirit and life-stealing talismans that make any party virtually unkillable.

Normal & Charged Attack Choreography

Through Ancient Sword Art, Qiqi executes up to five lightning-fast, acrobatic sword slashes inherited from a forgotten era of Liyue martial arts. Because her tiny frame swings with preserved adeptal speed, her third and fourth hits strike twice in rapid succession, making her an exceptional on-field driver for healing and physical/Clam-set triggers.

Elemental Skill & Tactical Deployment

Her Elemental Skill, Adeptus Art: Herald of Frost, uses an Icevein Talisman to summon the Herald of Frost—a spherical Cryo spirit that orbits the active character for 15 seconds, periodically sweeping around to deal Cryo damage to nearby foes. While the Herald of Frost is active, Qiqi's Normal and Charged Attacks regenerate HP for all party members simultaneously, and the Herald also periodically heals the active character on its own.

Elemental Burst & Supreme Manifestation

When unleashing her Elemental Burst, Adeptus Art: Preserver of Fortune, Qiqi releases a surge of sealed adeptal power that deals AoE Cryo damage and brands all nearby opponents with a Fortune-Preserving Talisman for 15 seconds. Whenever any character strikes an enemy marked with this Talisman, that character immediately regenerates a massive amount of HP based on Qiqi's Attack.

Lore Strength, Passives & Signature Synergy

Through her passive talents Life-Prolonging Methods and A Glimpse into Arcanum, characters under the effect of Herald of Frost who trigger an Elemental Reaction gain a 20% Incoming Healing Bonus for 8 seconds, while Qiqi's own Normal and Charged Attacks have a 50% chance to apply a Fortune-Preserving Talisman directly to enemies for 6 seconds. Her exploration passive, Former Life Memories, displays the location of nearby Liyue local specialties on the minimap.

06 · KEY STORY EVENTS & CHRONOLOGY · 关键剧情事件与时代转折点

Key Events and Defining Moments in Qiqi’s Story

Event #1: Farewell, Archaic Lord (The Cocogoat & The Guizhong Ballista)

Archon Quest Chapter I: Act II

When the Traveler and Zhongli visited Bubu Pharmacy to purchase top-grade Everlasting Incense for the Rite of Parting, Qiqi agreed to procure the incense only if they hunted the legendary adepti beast 'Cocogoat' to bring her fresh coconut milk. After inspecting the broken Guizhong Ballista on Mt. Tianheng and returning empty-handed, the Traveler and Zhongli learned from Baizhu that 'Cocogoat' was simply Qiqi's literal misinterpretation of where coconut milk comes from.

Event #2: A New Star Approaches & Defending Liyue Harbor

Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III & Interlude Act I

During the crises of Osial and Beisht threatening Liyue Harbor, Qiqi stood watch to evacuate and protect the citizens of Liyue, demonstrating that when her friends and the harbor are in peril, she can temporarily unseal the dormant adeptal power inside her body to defend the innocent.

Event #3: The Exquisite Night Chimes (Lantern Rite Reunion with Yaoyao & Baizhu)

Version 3.4 & 4.4 Lantern Rite Chronicles

Across Liyue's annual Lantern Rite festivals, Qiqi explored the harbor alongside Yaoyao, Baizhu, and the Traveler, enjoying cold treats at Wanmin Restaurant and recording warm memories of her companions in her notebook so they would endure across the centuries.

Event #4: Lagenaria Chapter (Baizhu's Contract & Bubu Pharmacy's Family)

Baizhu Story Quest: Lagenaria Act I

Assisting Doctor Baizhu and Gui in treating patients poisoned by lingering god remains at Bubu Pharmacy, Qiqi diligently sorted medicinal herbs and brewed remedies, showing how the pharmacy has become a genuine home for both the dying doctor and the immortal zombie.

Inspecting the official Qiqi 3D model in our interactive WebGL viewer reveals an iconic blend of Qing-dynasty Jiangshi folklore and intricate Liyue talismanic attire. Her silhouette features a purple-and-magenta mandarin-collared tunic coat worn over pale lilac bloomers, wrapped in white burial-style cloth bandages around her calves and calves-length black slippers. Crowning her braided pale-violet hair is a circular dark-indigo mandarin cap adorned with a vibrant red-and-yellow paper talisman that hangs directly down over her forehead, while a long braided ponytail trails down her back past her golden Liyue Cryo Vision.

When sewing a cosplay or sculpting a 3D figure of Qiqi, 2D key art rarely makes it easy to inspect the back of her circular hat, the exact placement of the golden bells and bead strands draped across her shoulders, or where her Cryo Vision clips to the back of her waist ribbon. By using the Sub-Mesh Disassembly controls in the 3D viewer above, cosplayers and artists can toggle off Qiqi's hat, forehead talisman, capelet, and braided hair to examine her collar clasps and talisman markings in distortion-free 4-view orthographic projection.

08 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS · 角色常见问题与深度解答

Frequently Asked Questions About Qiqi

Q1: How did Qiqi become a zombie in Genshin Impact?

Centuries ago, Qiqi was an ordinary mortal herb-gatherer who wandered into a battle between adepti and demons; after she died in the crossfire and received a Cryo Vision, the mourning adepti each infused her with adeptal energy to resurrect her, turning her into an immortal zombie who was then sealed in amber by Mountain Shaper.

Q2: What is the 'Cocogoat' that Qiqi talks about?

Because Qiqi lost her sense of taste as a zombie but finds the cool texture of coconut milk soothing, she mistakenly imagined that coconut milk must be produced by a mythical half-goat adepti beast called the 'Cocogoat.'

Q3: What stat does Qiqi's healing scale with?

Unlike most healers who scale with Max HP, all of Qiqi's healing from her Elemental Skill (Herald of Frost) and Elemental Burst (Fortune-Preserving Talisman) scales directly with her total Attack (ATK).

Q4: How can cosplayers inspect the back of Qiqi's hat and Vision placement?

Using the interactive Qiqi 3D model viewer at the top of this page, you can open the Sub-Mesh Disassembly menu to hide her hat, talismans, and braided ponytail, then export a 4-view orthographic turnaround sheet.
