1. Executive Overview — Who is Kaedehara Kazuha in Genshin Impact?

Kaedehara Kazuha, celebrated across the seas of Inazuma and Liyue as a gentle wandering samurai and poet aboard Beidou's Crux Fleet, is a five-star Anemo sword user and the last surviving heir of the once-illustrious Kaedehara Clan. Born into one of the chief lineages overseeing the Isshin Art of the Raiden Gokaden swordsmithing schools, Kaedehara Kazuha saw his ancestral estate decline into poverty before the Vision Hunt Decree turned him into a wanted fugitive and claimed the life of his closest friend, Tomo, in a throne-side duel at Tenshukaku.

Despite losing his homeland, his clan's wealth, and his dearest comrade, Kaedehara Kazuha harbors no bitterness; instead, he travels wherever the autumn wind carries him, listening to the subtle whispers of nature. On this page, cosplayers, 3D animators, and lore researchers can inspect the official Kaedehara Kazuha 3D model in real time while exploring the secret history of how Scaramouche ruined the Raiden Gokaden, how Kaedehara Kazuha briefly awakened two Visions at once to block the Musou no Hitotachi, and his peerless Elemental DMG buffing mechanics.

02 · SPECIES, LINEAGE & ONTOLOGY · 种族与血脉考据

Kaedehara Kazuha’s Species, Heritage & Biological Nature

Biologically and ontologically, Kaedehara Kazuha is a mortal human native to Inazuma who descends from the noble Kaedehara Clan, the historic samurai house tied to the Isshin Art branch of the Raiden Gokaden. Although Kaedehara Kazuha possesses no non-human Youkai bloodline, he exhibits preternatural sensory acuity developed during years of sleeping beneath the open sky: by listening to the rustle of maple leaves and scenting shifts in humidity, Kaedehara Kazuha can predict approaching storms, snowfalls, and hidden ambushes miles before any ordinary scout.

Even more remarkably, Kaedehara Kazuha is the only known mortal in modern Teyvat history to have simultaneously resonated with two Visions at the same time. During the climax of the Inazuma Archon Quest at Tenshukaku, Kaedehara Kazuha's own Anemo Vision and the masterless Electro Vision of his fallen friend Tomo blazed in unison when Kaedehara Kazuha's burning desire to protect the Traveler aligned perfectly with Tomo's lifelong ambition to brave the divine lightning of the Musou no Hitotachi.

03 · HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & ORIGINS · 身世背景与过往历史

The Origins and Historical Journey of Kaedehara Kazuha

For generations, the Kaedehara Clan served under the Yashiro Commission as esteemed stewards of the Isshin Art, one of the five legendary sword-forging traditions of the Raiden Gokaden. However, four centuries ago during the Tatarasuna incident, the Balladeer (Scaramouche) massacred the smiths of the Raiden Gokaden and tampered with the blueprints of a sacred blade—only sparing the Kaedehara patriarch Yoshinori after recognizing the face of Niwa Hisahide in his lineage. That single failure destroyed the Kaedehara Clan's standing, initiating centuries of gradual decline.

By the time Kaedehara Kazuha inherited the headship of the family following his father's death, the Kaedehara estate was completely bankrupt and had to be repossessed by debt collectors. Rather than mourning the loss of aristocratic luxury, Kaedehara Kazuha felt liberated from the burden of household politics and set out as a wandering ronin across the islands of Inazuma, earning his Anemo Vision on a rainy night when he found inner peace beneath an ancient shelter.

During his travels, Kaedehara Kazuha formed a deep brotherhood with a fellow wandering swordsman who dreamed of witnessing the pinnacle of martial arts: the Raiden Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi. When the Vision Hunt Decree was enacted, Kaedehara Kazuha's friend challenged Kujou Sara to a duel before the throne and was executed by the Shogun's divine strike; arriving moments too late, Kaedehara Kazuha snatched his friend's fading Electro Vision from the ground, burning his own palm, and fled Inazuma aboard Beidou's Alcor.

04 · PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE & BONDS · 性格特征、行事准则与人际关系

Kaedehara Kazuha’s Personality, Ideals, and Relationships in Teyvat

In everyday life, Kaedehara Kazuha embodies the serene, unhurried spirit of a classical haiku poet and bushido philosopher. He speaks in calm, measured cadences, enjoys playing songs on a freshly plucked leaf, and never draws his blade out of personal vengeance or anger. Even when confronting the possessed blade Kagotsurube Isshin or learning of the Balladeer's role in his ancestors' downfall, Kaedehara Kazuha prioritizes the present moment over past grudges.

Aboard the Alcor, Kaedehara Kazuha regards Captain Beidou as both a benefactor and a trusted older sister figure who sheltered him during his exile in Liyue. Within Inazuma, Kaedehara Kazuha remains on warm terms with Kamisato Ayaka and Kamisato Ayato of the Yashiro Commission—who supported the Kaedehara family for generations and later offered to restore his noble estate, an offer Kaedehara Kazuha politely declined in favor of his free-spirited life at sea.

Kaedehara Kazuha also shares strong camaraderie with Gorou and Sangonomiya Kokomi from the Watatsumi resistance, Detective Shikanoin Heizou, and his Golden Apple Archipelago companions Xinyan, Fischl, and Mona.

05 · COMBAT ABILITIES & ELEMENTAL MASTERY · 战斗能力、技能机制与神之眼权能

Kaedehara Kazuha’s Combat Capabilities, Elemental Authority & Kit Breakdown

In both canon lore and gameplay mechanics, Kaedehara Kazuha is one of the strongest Anemo crowd-control and elemental damage buffers in Genshin Impact. Blending Garyuu Bladework with swirling autumn winds, Kaedehara Kazuha pulls scattered enemies into a tight vortex while converting his Elemental Mastery directly into Elemental DMG Bonuses for his entire party.

Normal & Charged Attack Choreography

Through Garyuu Bladework, Kaedehara Kazuha performs up to five fluid iaido sword strikes that end with a graceful sheathing click. When plunging from mid-air after his Elemental Skill, Kaedehara Kazuha's Plunging Attack transforms into Plunging Attack: Midare Ranzan, creating a localized wind tunnel that pulls in nearby objects and opponents.

Elemental Skill & Tactical Deployment

His signature Elemental Skill, Chihayaburu, pulls enemies and objects toward Kaedehara Kazuha's current position before launching him upward on a rushing updraft of wind, dealing AoE Anemo damage and enabling an immediate Midare Ranzan plunge that can absorb Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro.

Elemental Burst & Supreme Manifestation

When unleashing Kazuha Slash, Kaedehara Kazuha executes a single supreme iaido cut that conjures a sprawling Autumn Whirlwind field painted with falling crimson maple leaves. The field deals periodic AoE Anemo damage and undergoes Elemental Absorption upon contacting Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro to deal additional elemental damage.

Lore Strength, Passives & Signature Synergy

Through his iconic passive talent Poetics of Fuubutsu, whenever Kaedehara Kazuha triggers a Swirl reaction, he grants all party members a 0.04 percent Elemental DMG Bonus to the swirled element for every point of his Elemental Mastery for eight seconds—making Kaedehara Kazuha a cornerstone of meta team building.
