1. Executive Overview — Who is Baizhu in Genshin Impact?

Baizhu, revered across Liyue Harbor under the title Beyond Mortality, is the gentle, soft-spoken proprietor of Bubu Pharmacy and the finest physician in the commercial port of contracts. Draped with his sharp-tongued white serpent companion Changsheng around his shoulders and bearing a Dendro Vision alongside a mystic catalyst, Baizhu has saved countless lives across Liyue regardless of his patients' wealth or social standing. Yet beneath his warm bedside smile and gold-rimmed spectacles lies a quiet paradox: the doctor who cures Liyue's deadliest ailments suffers from chronic, debilitating frailty himself.

The true reason for Baizhu's weakened constitution traces back to an ancient, secretive pact passed down from Chenyu Vale—a life-transfer contract forged with the immortal white snake spirit Changsheng. On this dedicated page, cosplayers, 3D character artists, and Genshin Impact lore researchers can examine the official Baizhu 3D model in real time while exploring a comprehensive analysis of his Herblord contract, his quest for eternal life to break the cycle of sacrifice, his Gossamer Sprite combat mechanics, and his protective care for Qiqi.

02 · SPECIES, LINEAGE & ONTOLOGY · 种族与血脉考据

Baizhu’s Species, Heritage & Biological Nature

To understand Baizhu's physiological classification in Genshin Impact, one must examine the intersection of mortal humanity and ancient adeptal symbiosis. Born as an ordinary mortal human in the misty hills of Chenyu Vale, Baizhu is neither an adeptus nor an immortal by blood. However, his internal meridian network and life force (qi) have been permanently altered through a secret medical contract with Changsheng, the white serpent known in ancient Chenyu Vale records as the Herblord.

Through this esoteric contract, Baizhu gained the miraculous ability to transfer his own healthy vitality directly into dying patients while absorbing their fatal illnesses, poisons, and karmic afflictions into his own body. Consequently, his golden-amber eyes with vertical ophidian pupils mirror Changsheng's own serpentine gaze, as every successor to the contract undergoes an exchange of ocular traits with the white snake. His constellation, Lagenaria (the Medicinal Bottle Gourd), symbolizes the traditional Daoist vessel that stores elixirs of longevity while containing lethal miasma within.

03 · HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & ORIGINS · 身世背景与过往历史

The Origins and Historical Journey of Baizhu

The early life of Baizhu was defined by loss and an overwhelming confrontation with human mortality. When a virulent plague swept through his homeland near Chenyu Vale, his parents perished despite every conventional herbal treatment available. The orphaned boy was subsequently taken in by a compassionate apothecary master who secretly bore the ancient contract with the white serpent Changsheng. Under his master's tutelage, young Baizhu mastered acupuncture, meridian diagnostics, and pharmacology, only to watch his beloved master's body wither away and die prematurely from transferring life force to save patients.

Even as his dying master begged him to abandon the cursed art and live a long, ordinary life, Baizhu refused to let the healing lineage perish. Accepting Changsheng's pact alongside a newly manifested Dendro Vision, Baizhu vowed that he would become the very last contract holder in history—not by abandoning medicine, but by discovering the true secret of immortality so that neither he, Changsheng, nor any future apprentice would ever have to sacrifice their lifespan again.

Relocating to Liyue Harbor, Baizhu established Bubu Pharmacy atop the stone steps of Feiyun Slope. There, he took in the zombie girl Qiqi to work as an herb gatherer and studied her preserved adeptal vitality alongside ancient texts on the Xiao family and adepti arts—never exploiting Qiqi, but genuinely cherishing her while searching for a way to defy the natural law of life-for-life exchange.

04 · PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE & BONDS · 性格特征、行事准则与人际关系

Baizhu’s Personality, Ideals, and Relationships in Teyvat

In everyday clinical practice, Baizhu radiates unfailing courtesy, patience, and serene composure. Even when his own lungs ache and his steps falter on the steep stairs of Bubu Pharmacy, he conceals his discomfort behind a reassuring smile so his patients never feel guilty for seeking treatment. Because his herbal decoctions are notoriously bitter—refusing to dilute medicinal potency for flavor—he always keeps candied fruits stocked at the counter to soothe crying children after they finish their medicine.

His closest and most constant relationship is with Changsheng, whose blunt, sarcastic commentary contrasts sharply with Baizhu's polite demeanor; yet behind their banter, the two share a profound bond of mutual concern, as each secretly fears outliving or harming the other. Toward Qiqi, Baizhu acts as a patient guardian who respects her notebook routines, though Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Director Hu Tao frequently expresses suspicion over his quest to defy the natural cycle of life and death.

Across Liyue Harbor, Baizhu maintains lucrative supply agreements with Ningguang and the Tianquan's chamber, treats Xiao's karmic injuries discreetly when called upon, and employs the dependable herbalist Gui to manage the pharmacy's busy front desk.

05 · COMBAT ABILITIES & ELEMENTAL MASTERY · 战斗能力、技能机制与神之眼权能

Baizhu’s Combat Capabilities, Elemental Authority & Kit Breakdown

In both canon lore and gameplay mechanics, Baizhu translates traditional Liyue meridian acupuncture and herbal pharmacology into defensive Dendro mastery. Rather than overwhelming enemies with brute force, Baizhu strikes precise pressure points with projected Dendro qi while weaving regenerative Gossamer Shields and team-wide healing pulses.

Normal & Charged Attack Choreography

Through The Classics of Acupuncture, Baizhu performs up to four short-range strikes that project golden-green Dendro energy directly into the meridians of opponents in front of him, demonstrating how a master physician's knowledge of vital points doubles as a martial discipline.

Elemental Skill & Tactical Deployment

His signature Elemental Skill, Universal Diagnosis, dispatches a nimble Gossamer Sprite that cruises between up to three nearby enemies, dealing Dendro damage before returning to Baizhu to restore HP to all party members simultaneously based on Baizhu's Max HP.

Elemental Burst & Supreme Manifestation

When unleashing his Elemental Burst, Holistic Revivification, Baizhu enters the Pulsing Clarity state and generates a Seamless Shield that absorbs incoming damage with 250% effectiveness against Dendro attacks. Every 2.5 seconds—or whenever a Seamless Shield expires or is shattered—the ability regenerates a fresh shield, heals the active character based on Baizhu's Max HP, and fires a Spiritvein projectile that deals Dendro damage and triggers reactions.

Lore Strength, Passives & Signature Synergy

Through his passive talents Five Fortunes Forever and All Things Are of the Earth, characters healed by Seamless Shields receive a massive buff to Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction damage—as well as Aggravate and Spread damage—scaling with every 1,000 of Baizhu's Max HP up to 50,000 HP. Furthermore, his utility passive Herbal Nourishment heals the active party member whenever the player harvests local flora in the overworld.
