Unlike divine avatars, illuminated adepti, or synthetic beings across Teyvat, Alhaitham possesses no supernatural bloodline or ancient curse; his extraordinary capabilities stem entirely from disciplined human cognition, photographic textual recall, and an uncompromising commitment to rational empiricism. Within Sumeru's intellectual hierarchy, his identity is inseparable from the Haravatat Darshan, which postulates that language is the fundamental architecture of thought and cosmic order.

What sets the Scribe apart from nearly every other citizen in Sumeru City is his relationship with the Akasha Terminal and his custom acoustic earpieces. While most scholars relied heavily on the Akasha's collective consciousness network before its deactivation, Alhaitham modified his personal headset to serve primarily as noise-canceling headphones and a portable music player, shielding his sensitive hearing from mundane chatter and emotional clamor. His constellation, Vultur Volans, symbolizes the solitary eagle or vulture soaring high above the herd—an emblem of independent observation, intellectual self-sufficiency, and refusal to conform to social expectations.

The formative years of Alhaitham were shaped by quiet bereavement and solitary scholarship. Both of his parents—renowned researchers within the Akademiya—passed away in an accident when he was still very young, leaving him to be raised by his grandmother, a respected Kshahrewar scholar. Recognizing immediately that her grandson processed information at a level far beyond ordinary children, his grandmother pulled him out of standard group classes after a single day. Instead, she allowed the boy to study at home inside her vast personal library, where he devoured complex treatises on ancient runes, philology, and natural philosophy.

Before passing away, his grandmother left him an extensive inheritance of rare books and a simple, enduring piece of wisdom: she wished for him to live a peaceful, unburdened life guided by his own judgment, unaffected by the vanity of others. When Alhaitham finally enrolled at the Sumeru Akademiya under the Haravatat Darshan, he quickly gained a reputation as an aloof prodigy. While reading an esoteric book on primordial language and essence, he casually discovered a glowing Dendro Vision tucked beneath the back cover—treating the divine gift with the same calm curiosity he brought to a footnote.

During his student days, Alhaitham collaborated on a major multi-Darshan research project alongside the brilliant Kshahrewar architect Kaveh. Although the project demonstrated remarkable academic promise, stark philosophical clashes between the hyper-rationalist linguist and the empathetic, idealistic architect caused the partnership to fracture. Nevertheless, the Akademiya awarded their joint thesis a spacious prime estate near the Grand Bazaar. After Kaveh went bankrupt constructing the Palace of Alcazarzaray, Alhaitham allowed his former research partner to move into the residence in exchange for household chores and rent, cementing one of Sumeru's most entertaining domestic rivalries.
